Experience Lambing Live

Lambing time is one of the most challenging times of year in a shepherd’s calendar, and a fascinating spectacle for those who are lucky to be able to experience lambing live.

Stuart is able to manage the farm single handedly for most of the year, but during lambing season, it is an intensive 24/7 operation, so another three staff are employed.

Here at Hare Farm, the 1000 pregnant ewes and tegs give birth indoors, in three different farm buildings, just a stone’s throw from the shepherd’s hut and oast house holiday homes.

Learn to Lamb 2023

Get hands-on and be a shepherd for the morning by attending one of the lambing courses at Hare Farm.  Te dates confirmed for 2023 are Monday 13th March, and Tuesday 14th March, from 10 - 1pm.
