Eating and Drinking

We have jotted down a few local pubs, restaurants and cafes that either we, friends or our guests have enjoyed and would recommend to others

The Red Lion in Brede

Just a mile up the road, in the centre of the village, The Red Lion is a friendly, cosy pub which is equally welcoming to those just wanting a drink or those for a meal. Gary, the chef, also bakes bread daily, makes croissants and sells breakfast items at the door.

Tibbs Farm Cafe

What a setting! A lovely modern, rustic cafe on the way to Rye, serving brunch, lunches and afternoon tea, and evening events too. Surrounded by hops and fruits, there are lovely walks across the farm too.

The Wild Mushroom, Westfield

Just down the road, is the fine dining experience of the Wild Mushroom, set within  Sussex farmhouse. https://www.webbesrestaurants.co.uk/section.php/2/1/wild_mushroom_restaurant

The George in Rye

An historic 1575 building in the middle of the high street, only recently renovated to now be a stunning contemporary hotel, restaurant and bar.

Vineyards

Opt for a Vine and Country tour, where you are collected from the farm and spend the day with your guides enjoying local vineyards, and with lunch too. Charles Palmer Vineyards and the Oxney Estate are just two of the closer options for you.
